The distance from Lombok to the Gili Islands is very short and the ocean is usually less rough than the more open ocean between Bali and the Gili islands. The cost to walk on the bridge is very pricey, for the time spent on it. We have always wanted to walk on a glass bridge, so we did this in Bali, to cross it off our bucket list. We were there for around 30 minutes, It took around 10 minutes to walk from one end back to the other. There is also a swing on one of the ends, which was good, but not for the feint hearted. The company picked us up at the hotel in Ubud with all our luggage and took us to the port to catch the fast ferry to Gili T. Our driver was wonderful. He was very personable and the vehicles were comfortable and clean. He helped us locate the fast ferry check in place, assisted in getting our tickets and informed us where to wait. It is pretty chaotic at the port in Padang Bai and this was our first trip to Bali/ Gili T so it would have been a disaster trying to navigate this all on our own. The fast ferry The Golden Queen was also good. It was very clean and had some air conditioning. The company also arranged our return transfers back to Padang Bai for the following week and again was waiting at the pier with signs with our name when we arrived. We were so grateful to have this pre-arranged as it was pouring rain when we arrived and total pandemonium with taxis and people everywhere at the pier. From here the driver took us directly to the airport in Denpasar where we caught our flights home. It was wonderful to have this all organized for us by this company and the service was prompt and efficient. It would have been very difficult to have managed and arranged this all on our own. On return they offered a transfer to our next destination and then we used Gusti their driver for our trip the next day. Weare doing something similar (just different number of nights), and logistically because of the boat schedules, i think it's easier to spend 4-5 nights in Seminyak, book a boat from Serengan port to Gili (they will pick you up from your hotel), spend at least 3 nights on the islands and take the fast boat to Padangbai port where you'll get transferred to Ubud for 4-5 nights.

How do you get from Seminyak to the Gili islands? There is no direct connection between Seminyak and the Gili islands. It will be a combination of a car drive and a fast boat ride. You have some options! You can book a fast boat to the Gili islands from either Padang Bai or Serangan harbor in Bali. Most fast boat operators offer free hotel pickup/drop-off service from Seminyak. In case your hotel’s location is outside the free area there can be an additional charge by the boat operator. We explain more about this at the end of this article. Serangan is a quicker journey from Seminyak, but you will have a longer boat journey, around two and half hours. Wecaught the Gili Gili fast boat from Bali to Gili Air. None of the fast boats are cheap but this was the best deal. We were picked up in Seminyak, taken to the boat in Padangbai and then had the fast boat ride to Gili Air. We left Seminyak about 7:30am, had a 40 minute wait at Padangbai and made it to Gili Air about 11:40am.
Boatdepart on time due to we got report from the captain boat left Bangsal/Lombok (last stopped before crossing to Bali) at 11.15 am therefore we assumed boat left Gili Trawangan (first stopped) on time or delay only 5 minutes not more than 30 minutes. Normally, Padang Bai port to Seminyak takes only 90 minutes if not get traffic.
